Sony's working on a selfie-centric camera that looks like a perfume bottle

Sony's working on a selfie-centric camera that looks like a perfume bottle!
2014 is certainly the year of the wearable, but they’ve had to share the stage with the explosive rising popularity of the selfie. It looks like Sony’s not content with unleashing onegadget that’s focused on selfies: it’s going all out with an upcoming Cyber-shot camera that looks like a perfume bottle, and it even boasts a swivelling lens to frame that perfect self-portrait. Fancy one of these?
It may not look like any camera we’ve seen before, but a new leak spotted at GForGames has revealed that Sony’s working on a new selfie-centric camera that packs in a huge viewfinder and an equally large lens. It also looks like it’s set to be very fashion focused too, thanks to its perfume bottle design and its crystal-esque lid that houses the 360-degree swivelling camera lens, breaking away from your traditional camera design.
While there are no concrete specs listed for the odd-looking camera, Japanese websiteDigicame Info has reported on a new Sony compact camera known as the KW1 that looks like it could fit the bill. That snapper has been reported to be packing a small 1/2-3-inch 19.2-Megapixel Exmor RS sensor, along with a Sony G lens setup with 21mm and 23mm conversion lenses. It sounds like something more suited to a wearable camera, and it could be the ideal setup for a selfie cam. It also looks like it’ll be packing in Wi-Fi, NFC compatibility and a companion app, but whether these cameras are related will be revealed later this week.
Sony’s planned an event for 22 August in China, where it looks like it’ll be fully unleashing the camera – you can expect to see more details on the selfie cam as soon as we hear them.
