3D Pocketcopter flying camera

A high-flying idea: Meet the 3D Pocketcopter flying camera!
The 3D Pocketcopter is a tiny flying camera currently on Indiegogo. It’s more compact than the current crop of drones like the AR Drone 2.0 – indeed, the maker claims it’s the “world’s smallest flying camera”. It’s very affordable, too. But is it an idea that’ll take off?
It certainly looks unique, with twin rotors attached to the top of its cylindrical camera body. It can’t fly any higher than 10m, so it looks like the ideal gadget for indoor shots from unusual perspectives. The camera is also capable of recording video in 3D, and you can even strip off the rotor blades and use the Pocketcopter as a stand-alone camera.
It’s no AirDog, but then that has an expected retail price of $1,500 (£884), while the 3D Pocketcopter can be had for a pledge of just €89 (£71). So our expectations are a little lower.
You control it using your iOS, Android or Windows Phone handset. If you lose your Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection, it’ll float safely back down to ground.
Want to get your hands on one? Head over to the Indiegogo page and make that pledge of €89!
