Ritot Projection smartwatch

Ritot Projection smartwatch: Beam notifications and the time right onto your hand!
Meet the Ritot Projection watch, which is a smart timepiece with a difference. As the name hints, it projects everything you need to know straight onto your hand, which means there’s no need for a screen, giving you a wearable that looks more like a bracelet or vibrant fitness band than a smartwatch. Fancy one of these?
It’s not just the time that the Ritot is capable of projecting onto your hand in huge numbers, as the watch can hook up to your smartphone and give you a whole host of useful notifications. The Ritot app aims to offer incoming caller ID, text messages, reminders, email, social media, weather updates and all sorts of other notifications, beamed straight onto your wrist for 10 seconds, or you can make them disappear with a shake of your wrist.
You’ll also be able to change the colour of the projection, although how easily you’ll be able to see notifications in bright sunlight and with lighter colours remains to be seen. Other features are set to include fitness tracking, and with a potentially massive display (in comparison to other fitness trackers like the Fitbit, at least), the Ritot Projection smartwatch could be the ideal get-fit partner!
The actual projection comes courtesy of a pico projector built into the side of the watch, and it’s set to work alongside the current major smartphone operating systems, including Android, iOS and Windows Phone. The designers even claim to be working on compatibility for other platforms – a smartwatch for BlackBerry, anybody?

Want to get your hands on one? Visit the Ritot Indiegogo page and pop down a pledge of $120 (£72). The designers behind Ritot have already more than smashed their original $50,000 (£29,883) goal, raising a staggering $951,372 (£568,613), so the project is definitely going ahead. It’s currently still at a concept stage though, and you’ll have to wait until February next year before deliveries start, but it looks like Ritot could be one of the coolest smartwatches yet!
