Samsung’s massive new flatscreen

Samsung’s massive new flatscreen bends on command!
Sure, LG is working on a TV you can roll up and pop in your bag, but in the meantime, you’ll just have to make do with this: Samsung’s just announced an epic new Ultra HD, 78-inch telly with an unusual trait. It can curve on command – is this a useful feature though?
We’ve seen a few (massive and staggeringly expensive) curved screen TVs go on sale this year, but until now they’ve all been fixed. Samsung’s remarkable new model comes flat, but hit a button on the remote and it can curve at the edges, giving it the same wrap-around effect as its predecessors.
Motors on either side of the display work to push it between states, although it’s not clear how long it takes to move between the two – if it’s any longer than an ad break, we’re not interested!
Details on Samsung’s new curved TV are still thin on the ground, but it’s set to go on sale in South Korea from tomorrow. Price is TBC, but you know the saying: if you have to ask, you might want to stick with a regular old flatscreen instead. We’ll have more details for you on a Western release as soon as we get them.
