The ultimate robotic vacuum

Dyson 360 Eye: Is this the ultimate robotic vacuum?
Robotic vacuum cleaners have been around for years now, and while they do help out with the cleaning, some of them often miss out on bits and pieces, leaving you to clean up afterwards. That’s why Dyson has spent 16 years researching and developing its own take on the robo cleaner, and it’s finally been revealed. Meet the Dyson 360 Eye, an intelligent robot that packs in a 360-degree camera to make sure it doesn’t miss a single spot! Read on for all the details!
Dyson is a household name synonymous with top-notch vacuum cleaners, and now the company is taking its cleaning expertise to a robot. The Dyson 360 Eye is claimed to be an intelligent robot that is capable of “cleaning properly”, and boasts “more suction” than any other robot vacuum out at the moment.
That’s all down to Dyson’s 360-degree vision system which houses a panoramic camera and works with infrared sensors to accurately suck up all the dirt that’s in your room. Pair those smarts with the V2 digital motor, which along with its Radial Root Cyclone tech, the 360 Eye can separate dust and dirt, and suck up particles down to 0.5 microns – Dyson claims you won’t have to set it to do a second sweep at all. Thanks to its 360-degree camera, it builds a detailed floor plan to intelligently navigate throughout a room and track its position, plus it also uses landmarks to work out how it has moved, meaning it won’t get lost, and it won’t double back on what it’s already sucked up.
To top it off, Dyson has armed the 360 Eye with tank tracks, just like an all terrain vehicle, to conquer almost anything you’ve got placed on the floor, letting it maintain speed and direction, while there’s a smartphone app on iOS and Android which will let you schedule clean-ups with just a quick few button taps.
If you want to get your hands on one, you’ll have to wait a bit: It’s scheduled to hit Japan first next spring, while a worldwide release will follow up afterwords. Needless to say, we can’t wait – and we’re sure you can’t either.
