Amazon Fire TV

Amazon Fire TV hits the UK from just £49 for Amazon Prime members!
It’s been a couple of months since the Amazon Fire TV was unleashed on the world, set to rival the likes of the Apple TV and various Roku boxes, but the set-top media streamer hasn’t been able to grab in the UK yet. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the Fire TV, it’s now finally available for UK peeps – and from £49 it’s reasonably priced too! Read on for all the details!
If you’ve been itching to grab a new media streamer, you may have found the ideal partner for your telly. There’s a lot to like about Amazon’s Fire TV, starting with its speedy performance: It’s armed with a quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM, making it more than capable of handling the simple menus thrown up by TV on demand, plus its download speeds are boosted by dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi with MIMO. The Fire TV even gets its own dedicated graphics chip, making it possible to play games from Mojang, Gameloft, Sega and Ubisoft, among others, all on the big screen.
Compared with rivals like Apple TV or Chromecast, Amazon’s Fire TV has plenty packed in, with its serious spec sheet marking it out as one of the most powerful set-top boxes around – all in a slim chassis too.
Throw in the ability to stream from services including Netflix, Prime Instant Videos, YouTube and more, there’s no excuse for blaming the stuff on TV when you’re bored. The Fire TV even gets voice control, letting you search for TV shows and films by name without having to trawl through time-consuming menus and onscreen keyboards.
It’s now heading to the UK, with a price tag of just £49 for Amazon Prime members – and you can order right now. You’ll have to act quickly though, as the deal only runs for the next five days. After that the Fire TV will set you back £79 – the same price it’ll cost none Prime members – while it’ll ship out on 23 October. Seems like a snip for something that can turn your HDTV into the ideal home entertainment system!
